There’s a huge amount of things to do in Reykjavik – and Iceland’s capital city makes the perfect starting point for day trips to many other areas of this fascinating country

While Reykjavik is relatively small for a capital city, there is a huge amount of activities, history and culture for visitors to explore. There is also the sheer beauty of the city’s location on the water and the fascinating architecture built to weather the harsh Icelandic winters.
Reykjavik is also a great starting point for excursions to some of Iceland’s most famous locations like the Blue Lagoon and the Golden Circle drive, all easily accessible to either drive yourself or take a bus tour. And if you’re really lucky, you might get to see the northern lights – or aurora borealis – one night over Reykjavik too.
